Guess what I did today?

Turned in our deposit to go back to Ethiopia!!!!!

Ahhhh I'm so excited!

But first, a few things.

1. We don't know when we're going slash for how long. Either a few weeks to a week early to spend (extra) time at the orphanage OR we're either staying later.

2. The trip costs $3500 per person. AHHHHHHH!!! And since we'll be staying longer that is extra $$$. Yikes.

3. A few weeks ago I had some serious anxiety concerning this trip. There's no way I would miss it, but I was pretty sure I was going to not make it over there. (AKA plane crash.) I don't know why I was freaking out so bad, but I was. I couldn't get through a day without almost breaking down about it. Pray, fast, pray, anxiety gone. God is good.

I cannot wait to see my beautiful babies. And give them a million and four kisses.

9 loves:

  1. how exciting! i've always wanted to volunteer at an orphanage. there is one I've read about in Kenya that has my heart.

  2. Do it! Do it! Kenya is very Americanized so it would be very easy to spend time in if you haven't been in that culture before. But seriously, so rewarding. Most amazing experience of my life.

  5. I'm excited for you and excited to read about it! It must be so thrilling and nerve wracking to not know how long you'll be there for or even when. But you are truly amazing, girl!

  6. @katie- thank you =] I am, but I've been there so it's more nerve racking thinking of how I'll get there rather than how long. But since I don't have a job this does pose a problem. Oh well. Living my dream, don't really care =]

  7. I love that you guys are so involved with this. Truly amazing when people can put their lives on hold for those kids. I love hearing your stories and seeing the pictures. Let me know when you are going, I might have some kids clothes/toys to send with you, if my SIL doesn't have a garage sale first.

  8. Thanks Dani!!! We'll probably be going in the fall so let me know! I would loveeeee some toys and clothes to take to them. You should see how ratty they get before they throw them away. That little boy in the first picture, he literally has 2 outfits, and one of them is one I gave him last year. So heartbreaking.
