the pumpkin patch
Today we ventured to the pumpkin patch because nothing screams fall like some corn stalks twice your height and a million pumpkins in a field of mud. (See also: a baby in a beanie, pumpkin spice lattes, scarves and boots.) Maddox was the best trooper even though it was a little chilly and I'm sure pumpking patching wasn't high on his list of things he wanted to do (babies have a list, you guys). We also brought out our Happy Baby Wrap which was my best friend when Maddox was a frog-legged newborn but then he gained some weight and I just recently figured out how to wear a bigger, squirmier, launches-himself-backwards baby. And let me say, I'm a fan. Today mostly made me fall madly in love with Montana falls. Typically we have summer or winter, we're not big on the in betweens up here. But this year, Montana is gifting us some crisp fall days and some beautifully leafed trees and the best kind of weather to dust off your boots and pick up some coffee and spend a little extra time in the great outdoors before Montana realizes that it's two weeks into October and there's no snow on the ground. Everyone shhh about that last part. Let's all collectively see how long we can postpone winter. (Also, let's talk about how lucky we are to have farm land an inch from my city. Because you probably wouldn't believe that there are houses and subdivisions surrounding all of this and this pumpkin patch was maybe ten minutes from our house. Never leaving the last best place.)

Fantastic photos!
ReplyDeleteSuch a perfect little family.
I'm glad you all had such a great time.
Thanks lady. Fall's pretty great. Not gonna lie. =]
DeletePrecious! I love all this excitement sharing with our little ones. Lovely little family... and the glasses smooshing. Too cute!
ReplyDeleteIt's so much more fun to share things like this with a baby! And I know that fun will just expoentially multiply as he gets older and understands things better. Cannot wait! (Well, I can. But you know.) He's all about the glasses. If I'm wearing mine he is always head butting them right into my face. I just can't wear them when I'm holding him. Thanks so much friend. =]
DeleteSo cute! I love the little tongue smile :) Looks like you guys had a great family weekend. I might need some advice on baby wraps soon ;) Never used one with B! P.S. I love you jacket/sweater/whatever you might call it...super cute!
ReplyDeleteHe is ALLLLL about his tongue right now. It's pretty cute.
DeleteBaby wraps! Okay. I was totally adamant that I would wear Maddox everywhere and while that hasn't totally been the case, I have done it a lot and I love it. People typically don't come up and touch him when he's in the wrap and that's my biggest pet peeve, especially in the face or on the head. I really wanted a cloth wrap that I could wear different ways and I just went the Happy wrap because it's reasonably priced and I heard good things about it. I had NO IDEA what I was doing when it came and so I youtubed how-to videos and practiced about 300 times. There are so many different ways to wear it/them and it's great because it grows with them and shrinks with you. ;] The only thing is you can wear them front-facing but Maddox weighs too much and just pulls the wrap down. He finally is letting me wear him cuddled against me but for a while he refused. It's super easy once you get it down and you can actually nurse your baby in it, but I haven't ever tried/that sounds hard and complicated. It's my favorite wrap that we have, out of the Bjorn and some no-name backpack my friend gave us. It just feels so much more intimate. I am a fan and I recommend them to every mom/mom-to-be that I know.
And my jacket! Thank you! It's actually from GoodWill. I got it for $3 and I am so proud of it/myself. hahaha
