i have a lot of mixed feelings about the 4th of july. six years ago it was the worst week of my life. but each year it gets a little bit better. it's not my favorite week out of the year, which is sad because let's drink and blow ish up. WHO COULD HATE THAT HOLIDAY? (me. okay.) =[  this week i have six days off with my husband to spend lighting sparklers (illegally, whatup), watching fire works, attending weddings and being together. probably, these six days couldn't have come at a better time. for us in our marriage, for me in my life. i get to spend this entire week with that handsome face by my side. I MEAN IN THAT HAT? ugh. i die. also, his beard. i've died dead. the best part is that he's been with me this whole time. so he gets it. he gets my rage towards this week and maybe he has a little bit of baby rage, too. it's that whole, "he's my best friend, so we hate all the same people," type of thing. which is totally legit in this situation, if you were wondering.

but rewind. an entire SIX days off with evan. SIX WHOLE DAYS. six of 'em!

we're having a lot of US time. because it's summer and that's enough of a reason to spend time together while not working. because next week is our anniversary. because this week reminds us how short and sweet life really is. we're just being together. because we do that a lot, i know, it's kinda our thing. but it's different when it's SIX ENTIRE DAYS OFF. in a row. together. with him by my side.

/this 4th's highlight: a piece of flaming firework debris landed in my eyeball and practically lit it on fire. best feeling ever? probably. then i ate a piece of firework debris that landed in my cotton candy. SURPRISINGLY the textures are quite similar. until the firework does not dissolve into a sugary rock and instead tastes like burnt cardboard. like i said, similar.

    1. hopefully you'll get to spend time together on your road trip? i mean, being stuck in a car won't be that fun. but it'll still be days without work and being together. which will still be a good time.

  3. Glad you're ok despite the firework degree fiascos . . . that's no fun. And yay for six days with your hubs and mutual hatred (isn't that such a great benefit of marriage? The shared hatred of despicables? Nothing draws human beings closer together than mutual I-can't-stand-this-hate-it-hate-it-hate-it-oh-you-too? sensation. ;]
